Wound Healing
HCM Wound Healing, located inside the hospital, provides a single location for patients to receive evaluation and treatment of complex wounds. Each patient is treated by a wound-healing team consisting of a specialized physician and therapists trained in the art of healing wounds.
Initial Patient Evaluation
The wound-healing team looks at both systemic and localized factors that are involved in the healing. Following this evaluation, the team initiates a treatment plan which can include ordering tests such as X-ray, MRI, CAT scans and/or lab work. It can also involve consultations with specialists in radiology, vascular surgery or orthopedics. Patients will receive education about the causes of delayed wound healing and how they can participate or assist in the healing.
