With each passing year, the Friends of the Hospital Galas grow more successful. In 2013, with nearly 850 guests in attendance, Gala XV raised record proceeds of $620,000.

This year, Gala XVI: A Magnetic Evening will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at The Lodge Event Center at Country Inn & Cottages, owned by Jeff and Amy Mazurek. A beautiful venue, delectable food, a spectacular variety of auction items, great company, and entertainment make the night unforgettable.

Proceeds from Gala XVI will support the purchase of a new MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine at Hill Country Memorial. This next generation MRI minimizes patient discomforts, with a wider bore and technology that has brought the decibel level down considerably. Additionally, Gala proceeds will help to bring the MRI equipment inside of the hospital, allowing for increased work flow and patient experience.

Estimated cost of the new MRI and relocation of the machine is $4.42 million. The goal of all 2015 Gala events is $600,000. Since the original Gala in 1987, the biennial events have raised over $2.7 million in support of hospital projects. Some of those include the Cardiac Rehab Program, Community Fitness Trail, Indoor Community Fitness & Therapy Pool, Community Health Center, Women's Pavilion, Cancer Resource Center, and most recently the purchase of a CT Scanner.
