Gastroenterology specialist Christopher Fincke, M.D. joined the Hill Country Memorial Medical Group in 2018 after a decorated military career and over ten years of private practice.
Dr. Fincke is a native of Connecticut and graduated from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. under a uniformed services health professions scholarship (HPSP). During his military career he went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C., a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, and tours of duty as a decorated Flight Surgeon in Korea and Central America. Board certified in Internal Medicine then Gastroenterology and Hepatology, he completed his military service in 2007 and entered private practice in San Antonio. Dr. Fincke returned to the Hill Country full time in the summer of 2018.
Dr. Fincke and his gastroenterology team provide evaluation and treatment of common gastroenterological and hepatic conditions such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, nausea/vomiting, gastroesophageal reflux, gastrointestinal bleeding, and weight loss. He and his team also provide gastroenterological and hepatic consultative services for individuals with more complex diseases such as inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease & ulcerative colitis), Barrett’s Esophagus (BE), peptic ulcer disease, diverticulitis, Celiac Sprue, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gallstone and gallbladder disease, and gastrointestinal malignancies (colon cancer, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, and pancreatic cancer).
Dr. Fincke is considered a sub-subspecialist with skills in basic endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and upper endoscopy as well as skills in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy.
Dr. Fincke is married to his wife and avid philanthropist, Stephanie. Together Stephanie and Dr. Fincke take great pride and joy in raising their 5 children.
