John Moscona, MD, offers Interventional Cardiology at Hill Country Memorial in Fredericksburg.

As an Interventional Cardiologist, Moscona diagnoses and treats coronary artery and vascular disease, heart disease, and congenital heart defects using imaging and catheter-based techniques, which are less invasive, have quicker recovery times, and do not require traditional open-heart surgeries.

Moscona attended Medical School at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans LA, where he also served his Internship and Residency, becoming Chief Resident and Fellow. He is currently in practice at Austin Heart, Central, in Austin TX.

Moscona is ABIM Cardiology board certified, and has published many journal articles, including longitudinal studies on the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the incidence of Myocardial Infarction.

At Hill Country Memorial, he sees patients at the Medical Office Building in partnership with Drs. Zidar, Greene, Gallagher, and Jepson.

Moscona understands that while the procedures he performs are “routine and safe,” it might be the first time for a patient to face such a medical intervention. Therefore he takes time to visit with patients and their families to reassure them it is a “quick, safe procedure.”

The New Orleans native is married and has three children.
