Rose Evlynn Cortina, MD, Orthopedics

Dr. Cortina received her Doctor of Medicine with Honors from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in 2014 after earning her B.S. in Biology Magna Cum Laude at Texas A&M University. She served her residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, and completed a Foot and Ankle Fellowship at Mercy Medical Center. Since 2020 Cortina is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.

She is licensed with the Texas Medical Board, and a member of several professional medical associations, including the American Foot and Ankle Society, American Medical Women’s Association, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. She has served as a Mentor for medical students, coordinated Christian medical missions to South Texas and South America, and assisted as a high school football team physician.

Cortina has earned numerous academic honors and awards, and been an invited lecturer on orthopedic issues, surgical approaches, and joint disorders. She is fluent in Spanish and is an advocate for mentoring women creating diversity in the medical field.

Her husband, Chandler Stovall, works in the software industry, and their hobbies include travel, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors.
