February is Heart Month and Hill Country Memorial has a number of activities and articles designed just for you. All month, we will be sending out e-newsletters with heart health tips, screening information, and healthy recipes. We will share a weekly series of articles geared towards women and heart health. And we will continue to offer community and educational events to help you learn to live your best life.

Surveys show that few women think heart disease is their greatest health threat. Unfortunately, it’s the nation’s number one killer, and women are its prime target. At Hill Country Memorial, we are focusing on the importance of taking action and working together to prevent heart disease in women. That’s why we created our “Heart to Heart for Women Series.”

While heart disease is a concerning health issue for all, it does not affect men and women equally. Notably, the incidence of heart disease is increasing at a faster rate in middle-aged women than men.

As you will learn, the way symptoms of heart issues manifest in women may be different than for men. We think it is vital that women recognize those early signs, so we can help you take steps to address and manage any potential heart issues.

We want to make sure that you are taking the time to take care of your health, and that you know that Hill Country Memorial is here for you every step of the way.

Here’s to a happy, heart-healthy February, and beyond!
